How the Crossover Came to Be

Rematch developer Sloclap has long fielded requests for anime crossovers, and none came up more often than Blue Lock. Players had been asking for it since the game was first revealed — Captain Tsubasa and a few other football-themed anime were also frequent requests, but Blue Lock was the clear fan favorite.

The pairing makes sense on paper. Rematch's arcade-style 5v5 football is exactly the kind of game that can pull off an over-the-top anime crossover, something few football titles could get away with. The irony, of course, is that Blue Lock's characters are famously not big on teamwork — the entire premise of the series is ego-driven strikers competing to become Japan's number one. Even so, the fit held up well enough that Sloclap delivered it.

The Season 5 Launch on Sept. 24

The collaboration went live with Rematch Season 5, which launched on Sept. 24. From day one of the season, players could get their hands on skins for four Blue Lock characters:

• Yoichi Isagi
• Meguru Bachira
• Seishiro Nagi
• Rin Itoshi

What's in the Event

The centerpiece of the crossover is a limited-time 3v3 mode built around the Blue Lock theme. Beyond that, the season includes a free event pass and several other Blue Lock-themed rewards that players can earn throughout its run.

The Deadline: Oct. 23

Season 5 runs for exactly one month, ending on Oct. 23. That gives players roughly four weeks to grind the event pass, unlock the character skins, and try the limited-time 3v3 mode before it rotates out.

Where Things Stand Now

The crossover is currently live and halfway through its month-long window. For Rematch players, the practical takeaway is simple: the free event pass and the 3v3 mode won't be around after Oct. 23, so anyone hoping to add Isagi, Bachira, Nagi, or Itoshi skins to their locker should prioritize it before the season closes.
