Rockstar Unveils $400 Grand Theft Auto 6 Collectible Box — And It Comes Without The Game
Rockstar has revealed a GTA 6 collector's box themed on Vice City, including a statue, sunglasses, and a crossbody bag. The wearable accessories signal a lifestyle-brand push beyond typical steelbook bundles, leveraging …
What's in the box
The newly revealed collection leans heavily on its Vice City theme, bundling a surprisingly wide range of physical extras alongside the game itself. The lineup includes a statue, a pair of sunglasses, and a crossbody bag — three items that together signal a merchandising push aimed squarely at fans who want a tangible piece of the series' most iconic fictional city.
That's a notable step up from a standard edition. Swappable steelbooks or art cards have become the norm for collector's bundles; a full statue plus wearable accessories like sunglasses and a bag suggests Rockstar is treating this release as a lifestyle-brand moment, not just a game launch.
Why Vice City, and why merch
Vice City has always been the franchise's most merchandisable setting. Its 1980s Miami-inspired neon aesthetic, pastel color palette, and saturation of retro fashion references translate naturally into physical goods — which is exactly what sunglasses and a crossbody bag are banking on. The statue, meanwhile, is the classic anchor of any premium collector's edition, and its inclusion here will be the detail most closely watched by longtime fans deciding whether to upgrade.
Background context: Vice City first appeared in 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and the setting is confirmed as the location for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI. A collection tied to that world arrives with enormous built-in recognition — few fictional settings have as instantly identifiable a visual identity.
What it means for buyers
For readers weighing a purchase, the practical takeaway is straightforward:
- Statue — the display centerpiece, and typically the item that determines a collector's edition's resale value.
- Sunglasses and crossbody bag — wearable items, which is unusual for game bundles and points to a broader audience beyond core gamers.
- Theme consistency — all three extras are explicitly Vice City-inspired, so the appeal depends on your attachment to that setting specifically.
