1win secures a spot in the ESL Pro League 24 playoffs with a 3-1 record

Background: October dates and 16-team stakes

ESL Pro League 24 is a Counter-Strike tournament held from 3 to 11 October. Sixteen teams are competing in the event for a $1m prize pool, with group-stage results shaping each team’s path through the competition.

The tournament is one of the established competitions in the Counter-Strike calendar. Its results carry weight beyond a single match cycle because teams are playing for prize money, tournament progression, and position in the broader race for Major qualification. Major qualification affects access to Counter-Strike’s most prominent championship events and the competitive opportunities those events create.

Against that backdrop, the group-stage decider between 1win and Spirit became a key moment in the tournament’s early timeline.

Development: Two-map sweep from Cache to Anubis

1win defeated Spirit 2-0 in the ESL Pro League 24 group-stage decider. The series began on Cache, where 1win took a decisive 13-5 map win. The result moved the matchup quickly in 1win’s favor and put Spirit under pressure to respond on the second map.

1win closed out the sweep on Anubis with a 13-9 victory. The two-map result sent the teams into different parts of the group standings: 1win advanced with a 3-1 record, while Spirit fell into the 2-2 bracket.

The 1win lineup featured Nafany, Ax1le, Belchonokk, Artfr0st, and Fame, with Groove coaching the team. Spirit fielded Donk, Sh1ro, Tn1r, Magixx, and Zont1x, with Hally as coach.

The sweep was one of the tournament’s notable surprises. In a format where each group-stage series can shape a team’s route through the event, 1win’s 2-0 series win and 3-1 record gave it a clear path forward, while Spirit’s 2-0 loss forced it into a must-win position.

Latest Progress: Playoffs for 1win, 2-2 bracket for Spirit

The 3-1 record secured 1win’s place in the ESL Pro League 24 playoffs. For 1win, reaching the playoffs is a competitive step forward in a 16-team event and gives the team a chance to extend its run at a major tournament.

The result also improves 1win’s position in the broader conversation around Major qualification. However, the available match report does not specify a ranking change, qualification threshold, or guaranteed invitation, so the exact impact on 1win’s Major-qualification path remains unconfirmed beyond the improved competitive footing.

Spirit’s situation is now more difficult. The team dropped into the 2-2 bracket after the 2-0 defeat and must play another group-stage match to determine its tournament fate. The report did not confirm Spirit’s next opponent, leaving the team’s route dependent on the subsequent group-stage schedule.

At this stage of ESL Pro League 24, 1win has completed its group-stage assignment with a 3-1 record and a playoff berth. Spirit, meanwhile, is waiting for the next group-stage match to find out whether it can recover from the 2-0 loss and keep its campaign alive.
