Official PlayStation Podcast Episode 548: September’s Featured Picks

Background: A return to September’s release talk

The PS Podcast episode said it is back this week to talk through September’s big releases and other recent titles the hosts were still playing. The show also included the contact line “Email us at [email protected] !” and credited Dormilón for its rad theme song and show music.

This framing matters for readers because the episode acts as a bridge between games already available and the next wave of PS5 releases. It also identifies the people behind the update: participants credited through SIE, with PlayStation Blog as a companion source for hardware and preview details.

Development: Next week’s PS5 highlights are listed

The hosts pointed to next week’s release highlights. Each title is listed with PS5 as its platform:

• Minecraft Dungeons II | PS5
• Toem 2 | PS5
• Way of the Hunter 2 | PS5
• End of Abyss | PS5
• Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered | PS5
• Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition | PS5
• Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve | PS5

The list gives a compact view of the upcoming week. It includes numbered follow-ups, a remastered Complete Edition, a Complete Edition entry, and a flight combat game. For readers tracking release dates, the value is knowing which titles the podcast highlighted before the next week window.

Latest developments: Hands-on coverage and October 2 pre-order news

Two hands-on items carried the latest part of the update.

Silent Hill: Townfall: The hands-on report says the game’s new claustrophobic perspective makes even mundane actions like checking emails and opening doors a terrifying experience. It also highlights more inventive ways the latest entry in the franchise elevates gameplay, and it invites readers to experience it now for themselves.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve: Ahead of its October 2 launch, the hands-on coverage explains that the game uses first-person storytelling to tell a more intimate story full of compelling characters, giving players a reason to come out on top in every dogfight. No major plot twists or endings are discussed in the overview.

The October 2 date also anchors hardware news. Lisa fans can pre-order the new Lisa Limited Edition DualSense on October 2. The controller was designed with the help of the lady herself, and it is presented as a fun way to glam up your collection. Full details are available on PlayStation Blog.
