Background: How HoYoverse Presents Major Update News
Genshin Impact has grown into a long-running live-service action RPG, and HoYoverse has used special programs to communicate upcoming content to players. The latest such event has just wrapped up, giving the community a new point of reference for the game’s next major update.
Development: A Full Reveal, Not a Teaser
The new Genshin Impact Special Program was framed as a moment where the developer revealed everything there is to know about the next major update. Rather than only hinting at a future patch, the showcase placed the update title and identity at the center of the announcement.
Latest Progress: The Update Name and Nickname
The major update was unveiled as Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana. The event also introduced its informal shorthand: Luna 7. That nickname gives players a concise way to track the update across community discussion, patch notes, and future official communications.
The numeric marker in the nickname is 7, which is the most visible number attached to the reveal in the current summary.
What This Means for Readers
For players, the key takeaway is that the next major content cycle now has an official title and a widely usable label. The Special Program has moved the update from rumor or teaser into a confirmed reveal stage. No new release date or additional numbers are included in the reveal summary, so readers should treat the title, nickname, and showcase timing as the current factual anchors.
Current Stage: Confirmed Reveal, Pre-Release
The game is currently positioned at the post-showcase stage: Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana, known among its friends as Luna 7, has been unveiled, and the next major update is now defined by that title. The immediate next step is to watch for how HoYoverse expands the details into patch availability, content distribution, and player-facing updates.
