Access IGN's Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Checklists at No Cost During Nintendo's September Game Trial

Background: A Metroidvania Platformer Gets a Short Nintendo Switch Online Entry Point

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a hit metroidvania platformer, and the September 2026 offer gives Nintendo Switch players a low-friction way to try it. Nintendo has made Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown available to all Nintendo Switch Online members from September 24th until September 30th 2026. During this same trial window, the Nintendo eShop also offers the game at a 70% discount. For players who prefer PC, the Steam store has the game 70% off until October 1st.

The timing matters because the game’s appeal is tied to its large interconnected map, platforming, and collectible search. A short free-access period can let players test whether they enjoy that structure, while the matching discount creates a clear decision point: try it through Nintendo Switch Online or buy it at a reduced price before the offer disappears.

Development Process: Three Overlapping Timelines Shape the Offer

The promotional structure moves in three linked stages.

From September 24th until September 30th 2026, Nintendo Switch Online members can access Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown as part of the trial. At the same time, the Nintendo eShop discount keeps the purchase option at 70% off throughout the trial window. The Steam store extends the same 70% discount until October 1st, giving PC players one extra day.

IGN is part of the same September 24th to September 30th 2026 period. IGN’s fully integrated interactive maps and checklists make tracking in-game progress a breeze. During the trial window, IGN is making progress tracking on its Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown interactive map and guides completely free. Players can use unlimited checkmarks and map markers, getting a taste of what is possible with IGN Plus.

This is where the offer becomes more than a simple download. A metroidvania can punish missed collectibles, hidden walls, and backtracking. The free guide tools are meant to reduce that frustration by letting players track progress in real time instead of relying on memory.

Latest Progress: Using the Walkthrough, Map, and Checklists for 100% Completion

IGN’s Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown walkthrough is designed with 100% completion in mind. The guide approach covers the tricky parts of the platforming structure: detailed screenshots guide players through difficult platforming sections, map screenshots highlight missable content, and checkmarks track each collectible picked up along the way.

For players who do not want to follow written walkthroughs step by step, IGN’s interactive map is complete with hundreds of marked locations of collectibles, upgrades, quests and more. The map is fully integrated with the walkthrough guides. Any collectible checked off on the map automatically syncs with IGN’s checklists, so players can move between the interactive map and the walkthrough without stopping to ask, “Wait… did I collect that?”

Several guide pages are listed for players aiming to complete Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Walkthrough, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown All Amulet Locations, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Sand Jar Locations, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown All Treasure Locations. The checklists are completely free only from September 24th to September 30th 2026, while a Nintendo Switch Online membership gives access to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

The guide workflow is connected to Shailyn Cotten, the Guides Checklists Editor for the IGN Guides team. She manages the checklist database for some favorite IGN game guides, and the note attached to the material says the only thing she loves more than checking off her to-do list is frogs and possibly Breath of the Wild.

Current Stage: A Limited-Time Window That Closes on September 30th 2026

At this stage, the event is a synchronized limited-time offer rather than a permanent change to the game. The Nintendo Switch Online trial and the IGN free progress tracking both run from September 24th until September 30th 2026. The Nintendo eShop 70% discount covers the same trial window, while the Steam store 70% discount runs until October 1st.

For readers, the practical timeline is simple: use the September 24th to September 30th 2026 window to test Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, use the free IGN map and checklist tools to avoid missed collectibles, and decide whether the 70% discount makes a permanent purchase worthwhile. After September 30th 2026, the Nintendo Switch Online trial and free IGN progress tracking end; after October 1st, the Steam discount window described by the offer also closes.
