Golf Clash Lands U.S. Open Champion Bryson DeChambeau for New Challenge Event

The hit mobile golf sim is bringing in one of the sport's biggest names, pairing a real-world competition with fresh in-game content for players to enjoy.

A $100k showdown at Bryson's place

For sports sims, star power matters. Just as Tiger Woods and John Madden lent their names to legendary titles, EA's Golf Clash now has Bryson DeChambeau on board. The U.S. Open champion is fronting a new event called Bryson's Backyard Games, built around a $100k prize challenge.

The competition itself isn't open to everyone. It will take place at DeChambeau's Dallas home, where a single-hole elimination format will see popular golfing personalities go head-to-head with the champ for a place in the $100k final. Among those taking part are well-known creators Grant Horvat, Chazzy Golf and Chance Taylor, giving the event plenty of reach beyond the world of professional golf.

The backyard comes to the course

Players don't have to just watch from the sidelines, though. From now until October 18th, DeChambeau's backyard green makes its in-game debut as part of a brand-new 18-hole course. Two tournaments, Backyard Games Front 9 and Back 9, are open for anyone to enter, and the Golden Shot challenge lets you sample the champion's personally selected holes across a dedicated course.

The rewards are generous too. Emotes, tees and balls are up for grabs, with cosmetics celebrating not only Bryson himself but also Bear, the fan-favourite dog who has become a star in his own right. It's a crossover with broad appeal, aimed squarely at fans of the pro tour and the golf content scene alike.
