Case of the Golden Idol is now 50 percent off on mobile and available through Google Play Pass.

Case of the Golden Idol Celebrates Four Years With a 50% Mobile Discount Until October 23rd

Background

The historical mystery puzzler Case of the Golden Idol has reached its fourth anniversary. The game follows the titular Golden Idol across decades of crimes and cover-ups, presenting 12 cases through 19th-century-inspired vignettes. Its core appeal lies in a deduction system that asks players to fill in key details—such as who, what, where, when, why, and how—instead of selecting a ready-made answer. That design rewards close reading, careful observation, and iterative reasoning, and it has built a reputation among puzzle enthusiasts.

Development Process

The anniversary brings two changes for players. First, the mobile version is receiving a 50% discount until October 23rd. Second, the game is also reaching Google Play Pass, giving users another way to access it. These updates expand how players can enter the series: one path is a temporary mobile discount, while the other is availability through Google Play Pass.

Latest Progress

For readers deciding whether to start, the fourth anniversary is the clearest marker: the title has already sustained interest for four years since launch, and the current promotion ends on October 23rd. The Google Play Pass addition matters for users who prefer subscription access rather than buying the game outright. With 12 cases and its detail-filling deduction method, the game remains structured as a mystery puzzle experience rather than a conventional answer-selection title.

Current Stage

Case of the Golden Idol is currently in an anniversary period that combines promotion and platform expansion. The mobile discount runs until October 23rd, and the Google Play Pass availability marks the latest step in the game's four-year presence. For puzzle fans, the anniversary provides both a lower-cost entry point and a new access route into the same 12-case deduction framework.
