Evo Brazil 2027 announces an eight-game roster and a R$1,000,000 prize pool as ticket sales begin

Evo Brazil 2027 will be the first Evo event in South America, taking place from 26 to 28 March 2027 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. The main stage will feature eight competitions and at least R$1 million in guaranteed prize money.

The city already has a connection to the brand: São Paulo hosted the Versus: Evo South America events in 2008 and 2009. In a press release, Evo General Manager Rick Thiher said, "Bringing Evo to São Paulo will be an opportunity to honour this legacy, highlight the incredible passion of Brazilian players and fans, and invite the global fighting game community to take part in the next chapter of Evo's history."

Development: Registration Opens, Ticket Tiers Rise, and the Lineup is Set

Competitor registration and spectator ticket sales both began on Tuesday 27 October. A player can enter each tournament for R$50 per game. The first ticket batch is priced at R$180 for one day or R$490 for the full three-day pass, according to the official Evo Brazil website.

That early window lasts until 28 December. After that, regular and final batches raise the full price to R$250 and R$690 respectively, so buyers who want the lowest rates need to act before the early tier ends.

The eight main stage titles are Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear -Strive-, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6, TEKKEN 8 and THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV. They are listed alphabetically, and all main events use open brackets, meaning any registered player can enter.

Evo has not yet published how the R$1 million will be divided among the eight competitions. Beyond the main stage, the festival adds an Evo Museum, an Artist Alley, cosplay activities, an arcade area and space for community run side tournaments.

Latest Progress: Ticket Sale Pause, Refund Fix and 2027 Tournament Context

The opening of ticket sales did not run smoothly. A few hours after the announcement, the official Evo Brazil account said ticket sales had been paused. Sales resumed later that evening after Evo fixed an internal technical error affecting the ticket prices shown on the site. People who bought tickets before the correction will receive a partial refund covering the price difference.

The São Paulo event is part of a broader expansion by Evo owner RTS. New stops are planned for China, Mexico, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Singapore, joining established events in the US, Japan and France. The Esports Radar reports that the Latin American rollout is led by Rafael Queiroz, Evo's Head of LATAM and former General Manager of Team Liquid Brazil.

The debut also has commercial support from global partners Visa and PlayStation Tournaments. Visa signed with Evo earlier this year in a deal that, per Evo's announcement, runs through early 2028.

The March timing puts Evo Brazil early in a busy 2027 competitive calendar, as publishers and organisers rework their circuits. Esports Insider recently looked at the new qualification routes for the Esports World Cup 2027.
