Netflix will release a live-action PUBG Mobile series starring Donald Glover.
Netflix is developing a live-action PUBG Mobile series with Donald Glover as producer, director, writer, and star; plot and release are unconfirmed.
Background: Netflix Follows the Success of Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
The new PUBG project is framed as part of a broader trend in game-based shows. Netflix has already seen success with two named series: Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Their success gives the platform a pattern to follow: a known gaming name can become a major viewing event when adapted with strong creative leadership. No dates or measured audience numbers are provided for those earlier series, so the timeline is best read as a sequence of confidence-building steps rather than a dated production schedule.
Development Step: PUBG Becomes the Next Target
The next target is PUBG. Netflix is developing a live-action series based on that gaming name. This moves the adaptation strategy from the earlier shows toward a new major title. The phrase “in development” places the project at an active but unfinished stage: the concept is public, but the series is not presented as completed, filming, or ready for release.
Creative Anchor: Donald Glover Joins in Four Roles
The clearest confirmed detail is Donald Glover’s involvement. He is known for Atlanta and Community, and he will serve as executive producer, director, writer, and star. That gives the project four creative roles centered on one visible figure. It raises expectations about tone and leadership, but it does not reveal the story, supporting cast, or shooting plans.
Current Stage: A Confirmed Concept With Very Limited Public Details
Details are very scarce. No plot description is available, and no other cast members are listed. For readers, the current situation is simple: Netflix has attached a major gaming name and a major creative figure to a live-action series, but the project remains an early-stage concept rather than a detailed upcoming release. The next useful updates would be official plot information, additional casting, and production or release scheduling.
