Silent Hill Townfall: South Brae Floppy Disk Puzzle Guide

During Part 4 of Silent Hill Townfall, your job is to visit several houses around the Clara Woods Estate and gather barcodes from lockers. Each locker is locked behind its own puzzle, though, and the first hurdle is the corrupted floppy disk at 5 South Brae. Here's a complete walkthrough for repairing the disk and unlocking the file box hiding the code you need.

Grab the Floppy Disk Case and the Key

When you first step into 5 South Brae, the house is full of items worth picking up, but two rooms matter most for this puzzle. In the office, you'll find a locked file box along with a Floppy Disk Case. Head into the master bedroom next, where the Disk Case Key is waiting for you.

Take the key back to the office and use it on the Floppy Disk Case. This gives you the Grouped Floppy Disks item, a set of three disks. Slot them into the disk reader next to the office computer and you'll quickly hit a snag: the second disk in the set is corrupted, and the computer won't read it.

Get the Disk Fixed at Atlas Computers

Thankfully, there's a repair option available. Make your way to Atlas Computers, then use the Disk Case Key on the Floppy Disk Case sitting in the back office. Inside you'll find the Fix-A-Disk item — pick it up and head back to the office at 5 South Brae.

Repair the Disk and Print the Diagram

With Fix-A-Disk in hand, interact with the PC again and follow these steps in order:

1. Insert Disk 1 and press confirm.
2. Insert Disk 2.
3. When the error message appears, insert Fix-A-Disk and press begin.
4. Insert Disk 2 again and press repair volume.
5. Insert Disk 1 again and confirm.
6. Insert Disk 2 again and confirm.
7. Insert Disk 3 and confirm.
8. Switch on the printer.
9. Open the Manual.eml file on the PC and press print.

The printer will produce a Reciprocating Compressor diagram, with the Part ID 956 clearly highlighted on it. Make a note of that number — it's the key to the locked box.

Open the File Box and Claim Your Barcode

Walk over to the locked file box in the office and enter the Part ID 956. The box opens, and inside you'll find the Locker 17 barcode.

With that secured, head back to the CEG Lockers and scan the barcode to move the story forward. Your next stops are 5 Upper Brae and 6 North Brae, where two more house puzzles await before you can finish collecting all the locker barcodes in Clara Woods Estate.
