How to solve the CCTV command console puzzle in Silent Hill Townfall

The CCTV command console puzzle in Part 6 of Silent Hill Townfall is one of the longest and trickiest challenges in the game, stretching across most of the chapter. You'll need to replay the events of "that night" through a control console, matching faxes with camera feeds and equipment IDs — while also leaving the room twice to handle valves by hand. Here's how to get through it step by step.

How to solve the CCTV command console puzzle in Silent Hill Townfall

Setting Up in the CCTV Room

When Simon first enters the CCTV room, a voice on the intercom asks him to walk through the events of "that night" in order. Before touching anything, sweep the room:

  • A Remote Systems Control Note highlights "Aux Line B - 246" and notes "Command - Equipment - ID" as the input order.
  • A Lockbox, opened with the Lockbox Key from earlier, contains a Flare Round, Shotgun Round, and Antibiotics.
  • A med kit with IV Fluid and Gauze, plus a save phone on the wall — both doors lock, keeping you safe inside.
  • A locked Remote Control Panel and the CCTV system with its command console. Flip both power switches to start it up.

The console has a fax-like machine printing messages from an unknown source, alongside buttons marked with engineering symbols. Your job: carry out each message's instructions. Wrong inputs show "the NSO failed" and reset that step, so experimentation is safe.

Messages 1 and 2: Open Valve B, Start the Filter

Message #1 (8:02PM) asks you to OPEN VALVE B after the DS0 missed an error on the Reciprocal Compressor Unit. Check Cam ID 5 (Valves A to C), zoom in on Valve B, and note its number: 254. Then input: open, the valve button (wheel symbol), 254, Enter.

Message #2 (8:04PM) requires starting Filter A to reduce particulates. Cam ID 0 shows the Filter Unit, marked 103. Input: start, filter (rightmost on the third row), 103, Enter.

Messages 3 and 4: AUX Lines and the Regulator

Message #3 (8:07PM) gives a locker code, 0825. Open the locker to grab the AUX Key and three Shotgun Rounds, then head to the AUX Room and manually open the auxiliary lines by turning its valves. Back in the CCTV room, flush Aux Line B — its ID 246 comes from the note. Input: flush, aux (rightmost on the fourth row), 246, Enter.

Message #4 (8:15PM) — the regulator has overheated, so stop it. Cam ID 2 shows the Regulator Systems, ID 781. Input: stop (leftmost, fourth row), regulator, the ID, Enter.

Messages 5 and 6: Unlock the Door, Open Valve F

Message #5 (8:16PM) — remote control is now impossible, so unlock the door to Valve F. On Cam ID 4 (Valves D to F), use the room ID above the door, 592, not Valve F's own number. Input: unlock, door, 592, Enter.

Message #6 (8:16PM) sends you out again. Head down two floors to the Backup Generator area; a previously locked door in the bottom left corner now leads to the Valve D-F Room. Turn Valve F manually, then return upstairs.

Message 7 and the Clamp Release

The final fax is dated January 18th, 1996, 8:19PM: opening Valve F triggered the RCU's explosive failure, and the crew must evacuate via the Clamp Release Module.

Grab the Clamp Release Procedure document from the printer left of the console, then set the opposite panel as follows:

  1. Pressure Control to SET; switch ON the Self/All Notifiers.
  2. Panel Model 920CEG — set Tension and Balance to INT/INT.
  3. Run Off to DISENGAGED; Intubate Flow to NONE.
  4. Enter clamp ID D71 (stencilled on the clamp arms).
  5. Toggle the report switches for letter D — first, third, and final switches on.
  6. Adjust power until the battery light illuminates: Battery 1 to B, Battery 2 to C.
  7. Press the flashing release indicator.

A container lowers into the room, and the CCTV room is finally behind you. From there, St. Amelia still has plenty left to unravel.
