The 2026 Halloween event is divided into two parts, as is tradition. Part 2 begins on Sunday 1 November 2026 at 10am local time and runs until Thursday 5 November 2026 at 8pm local time.
When Part 2 begins, new Pokémon are expected to appear more frequently in the wild. There may also be changes to event-exclusive research tasks, along with two debuts.
Two existing features continue through Part 2: Go Pass: Halloween and the 'Halloween Timed Research' quest. They remain active throughout the second phase, so the new changes are added to the event rather than replacing everything already underway.
Development: shiny Greavard and shiny Houndstone arrive
The second part of the 2026 Halloween event marks the release of shiny Greavard and shiny Houndstone.
Shiny Greavard can be encountered in the wild, through Go Pass, and possibly as a reward from a research task. For players hoping to improve their chances of obtaining shiny Greavard, the guide advises banking any encounters unlocked via Go Pass until this shiny form has been released.
Latest change: Mega Sableye can reach Super Max Level
Halloween Part 2 introduces another milestone for Mega Sableye: it becomes the next Mega Evolution able to reach Super Max Level.
This change also unlocks Night Shade+, a new attack that Sableye can use whenever it is Mega Evolved. Night Shade+ is available regardless of Mega Sableye's Mega Level, but a Sableye must already have reached Mega Level 3 in order to reach Super Max Level.
