Silent Hill Townfall guide: solving the Blood Type Transfusion Vault puzzle

After what feels like an endless crawl through the hospital basement in Part 3, freedom is finally within reach once you hit the blood transfusion vault puzzle in Silent Hill Townfall. Your task is suitably grim: mix together various patients' blood to produce a sample matching Simon's blood type. To keep you from lingering with the blood bags any longer than necessary, here's the full solution.

Understanding the vault puzzle

Once you've matched every blood bag to its owner's medical record in the main hall, a door opens to reveal the transfusion vault, with Simon Ordell's name displayed in the center. Around it sit several rings of patient initials, and you can rotate each ring to form paths linking initials to Ordell. The walls of the cramped room are plastered with plaques listing different blood type combinations.

Your goal is to recreate Simon's blood type from a mix of donors, each tied to a blood bag out in the hall. Simon's own type is shown on his medical wristband in your inventory: A+.

Which blood types you need

Check the wall plaques and you'll see that producing A+ requires combining the following types with Simon's blood:

• O-
• O+
• A-

A+ appears on the plaque too, but Simon supplies that himself. You only need to connect patients with the three types listed above.

Each patient's initials and blood type can be verified back at the blood bags or medical records in the main hall. Here's the full list for quick reference:

• HM = O-
• SW = A+
• RD = AB-
• MC = B+
• GM = AB+
• TF = O+
• SH = B-
• DH = AB+

Connecting the right patients

Based on those types, the three patients you need to link to Ordell are:

1. HM (O-)
2. TF (O+)
3. SW (A- — note the plaque requires A-, so verify SW's type against the records before connecting)

Rotate each ring of the dial so that only these initials have an open path to Ordell's name in the center — no one else's blood should reach him. Once every path is set, press Ordell's name in the middle to confirm.
