Silent Hill Townfall: Details Emerge from Richard's Case Code

Part 4 of Silent Hill Townfall asks you to crack the code for Richard's mysterious case, and while it sounds straightforward, the puzzle is easy to trip over. The Auditorium area throws a lot of paperwork at you, and some of it deliberately points you in the wrong direction. This guide walks you through every step so you can open Richard's case, grab what's inside, and get moving toward the 10th Floor without wasting time.

Step 1: Figure Out Which Case Belongs to Richard

Before you can enter any code, you need to know which case actually belongs to Richard. Head to the Auditorium and check the "Box IDs and Names" document sitting on the podium. Reading it reveals that Richard's Box ID is 36.

Keep that number in mind — a fair amount of the paperwork scattered around this section is there to mislead you, so double-check that you're matching the right ID before moving on.

Step 2: Unlock the Security Room

To get the actual code, you'll first need access to Security, which means solving the Security keypad puzzle. If you haven't worked out that code yet, take care of it before continuing — both halves of the clue you need are tucked away in areas past this point.

Once you're inside Security, make sure you pick up two important items:

• The first Case Codes document, found in the bin inside Maintenance
• The second half of the Case Codes document, found in the bin inside Security

Step 3: Combine the Case Codes Documents

With both halves of the Case Codes document in hand, put the two pieces together. Reading the combined document reveals that the code for Richard's case is 486.

Enter that code and open the case. Inside you'll find Richard's Employee File Cover Note, which contains a crucial detail: his Employee ID is 00007820518.

Step 4: Print an Access Card and Head Upstairs

That Employee ID is your ticket forward. Take it to the PC in the Security room and use it to print out an Access Card. With the card in hand, you can finally make your way up to the 10th Floor of the building — and from the look of things, you're going to need all the luck you can get up there.
