Black Desert Mobile is celebrating the Moon Festival season with its own in-game Moonlight Festival, a three-week event that hands out combat EXP boosts and a stack of items as you guide an event pass through the phases of the moon. With Mid-Autumn celebrations underway in regions like China, the mobile MMORPG is joining the festivities in style.
How the Moonlight Festival works
The event runs until October 13th and centers on earning Moonlight Fragments. You collect them by completing special missions and other tasks during the event period. Those fragments are then spent growing the event pass's moon through eight distinct phases, and each phase you unlock comes with its own batch of rewards along with a boost to combat EXP. Finish all eight stages and you'll have picked up the full set of goodies along the way.
What's up for grabs
The reward list is a solid reason to log in daily. Players who push through every stage of the moon pass can earn items including Voidsent Eyes, Chaos Elements, and Co-op Rush Scrolls — all useful materials for anyone grinding through the game's progression systems. Combined with the combat EXP boosts attached to each phase, the event should speed things up nicely for both new and veteran adventurers.
A nice break from the usual seasonal routine
One of the fun side effects of games built for global audiences is the variety of seasonal events they bring, and the Moonlight Festival offers something different from the usual back-to-back wave of Halloween and Christmas content. While it would have been interesting to see how Black Desert Mobile handles All Hallows' Eve, this lunar-themed celebration is a fitting and generous way to mark the season.
Black Desert Mobile remains one of the most popular smartphone MMORPGs around, but it's not the only option. If you're after more games in that vein, our list of the best mobile games like World of Warcraft rounds up the titles we think stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the genre's biggest name.
