Control: Resonant Game Length and How Long It Takes to Finish

If you're planning to jump into Control Resonant, knowing how much time to set aside can help you decide whether to mainline the story or go for full completion. Here's a breakdown of what to expect at every playstyle, based on a full playthrough of the game.

Main Story Length

A playthrough focused on the main missions took roughly 27 to 28 hours, and that run also included a handful of the shorter side stories plus some time wandering the city to pick up Health and Power Upgrades. Strip away those small detours and you're looking at around 24 to 25 hours to push straight through the narrative.

It may be wise to budget an extra hour or so, though, in case a particular boss slows your progress. Skill level plays a part too, but for the most part Control Resonant is a straightforward game that rarely gets in its own way.

Completionist Run: 37 to 43 Hours

Players chasing 100 percent completion should expect a significantly longer commitment, somewhere in the region of 37 to 43 hours. That covers every main mission, all of the side stories, tracking down every Upgrade Point, leveling up each area, gathering every collectible, and ticking off the smaller tasks sprinkled throughout the game, such as unlocking all of the outfits.

Keep in mind that some of these smaller activities are tied to progress elsewhere in the game, so they'll often be finished naturally as you work through the bigger objectives.

Finding Your Way Around

One thing that keeps the completionist path manageable: navigation is rarely a headache. Nearly everything worth locating will eventually be marked on your map, so the challenge is usually working out how to reach a marker rather than hunting for where it sits.

The collectible count is on the high side, but most players will pick up the majority of them organically while playing through the game normally, meaning a dedicated collectible sweep at the end should be far less painful than it might sound.

The Bottom Line

Whether you're in it for the story or the full sweep, Control Resonant respects your time reasonably well. Story-focused players should plan for about a day of playtime, while completionists will want to clear their schedules for closer to two full days.
